Definitions
Public office:
- means the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of the Government of New Zealand; and
- means the agencies or instruments of those branches of government; and
- includes (without limiting the agencies or instruments):
- departments as defined in section 2 of the State Sector Act 1988; and
- Offices of Parliament as defined in section 2(1) of the Public Finance Act 1989; and
- State enterprises as defined in section 2 of the State-Owned Enterprises Act 1986; and
- Crown entities as defined in section 7(1) of the Crown Entities Act 2004; and
- the Parliamentary Counsel Office; and
- the Parliamentary Service; and
- the Office of the Clerk of the House of Representatives; and
- the New Zealand Police; and
- the New Zealand Defence Force; and
- the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service; and
- any person or class of persons declared by an Order in Council made under section 5(1)(a)(i) to be a public office for the purposes of this Act.
